If you need to move a Tablet Command Pro user from one iPad to another, or change the user on an iPad follow these directions. Here are some examples of what you might need to change users: you are upgrading devices, the old iPad broke, or the prior iPad was lost among, you are re-assigning an existing iPad to a different user.

If switching to a new device with the same user

  1. In the web portal go to Admin Features > Users > and select the desired Tablet Command Pro user

  2. Scroll to the bottom of the User Detail page, click on the iPad button to show only the iPad sessions

  3. Ensure that you are closing the correct session for the correct user, and then click “Close”

  4. Delete Tablet Command from the old tablet

  5. Install Tablet Command on the new tablet

  6. Login on the new tablet

  7. The session will now be locked to that user on the new tablet, and the old tablet can be repurposed.

Note:  By design Tablet Command on the iPad does not have a Log Out function.  Once a user is logged in to a tablet, that session is locked to that user on that tablet.  This ensures that when a user needs to use Tablet Command to manage or respond to an incident, the device is logged in and ready, instead of the user having to login and potentially not remembering credentials.
